SCS Lab Coat Laundering Program

The School of Chemical Sciences has implemented a lab coat laundering program to pay for the laundering of chemically contaminated lab coats worn by all SCS graduate students, employees, and staff. Biologically contaminated coats must be decontaminated prior to utilizing this laundering program. Coats will be collected twice per calendar year (usually once during the fall and spring semesters). An e-mail notice will be sent out informing users of the collection dates. Lab coats are collected in the hallway across from receiving in RAL (29a RAL). Laundered coats are returned in 1 - 2 weeks and will be delivered to the appropriate laboratory or office. The initial of your first name, your entire last name, and your room and building number should be written on the inside collar of the lab coat with a sharpie marker (Example: E. Smith 171 RAL) prior to depositing the coat in the collection box for cleaning. Please note that your coat may not be returned if it disintegrates in the laundry or is damaged beyond repair during the laundering process.
